Sewer Suction Machine

A sewer suction machine—also referre to as a vacuum truck or sewer cleaning truck—is a highly specialize vehicle designed specifically for the cleaning and maintenance of sewers. It is equipped with an exceptionally efficient and powerful vacuum system. Its primary function is to extract debris, sludge, and liquids from sewer lines, catch basins, septic tanks, industrial effluent pipelines, drains, and other drainage systems.

Sewer Suction Machine Uses And Working

The Suction Unit mounted on vehicle comprises of the following:

  • Drive System
  • Tank
  • Vacuum-cum-Compressor Unit (From MORO, Italy or JUROP, ITALY)
  • – Accessories

Drive System

The engine of the truck chassis is utilize to drive the vacuum pump through. A suitable drive arrangement through the side PTO of the truck gear box. Make: Bezares Alpha Drives

Tank

The cylindrical tank and dish ends are fabricated out of 5 MM MS Plates conforming to IS:2062 grade. The tank has a capacity of 4000 Ltrs. The tank is installed in an inclined position to facilitate flow of material towards the discharge end and is mounted on an appropriate sub-frame. Which in turn is bolted to the truck chassis.

Tank has blow – back arrangement for discharge of material from the sludge tank using the same vacuum-cum-compressor pump. The blow-back arrangement is more hygienic and cleaner way of evacuating. The sludge from the tank by pressurizing the tank when the pump is run in compressor mode.

The tank has arrangement for hydraulic tipping or blow – back arrangement for discharge of material from the sludge tank. The rear door of the sludge tank is fitted with hydraulic cylinders for opening and closing of the door. Adequate sealing and locking arrangement is provided to render the door leak proof.

The level indicator made of thick transparent acrylic tubing is provided on sludge tank in positions convenient for the operator to view. The tank exterior is spray painte with a coat of superior quality. Anti-corrosive primer and two coats of enamel paint of reputed make. The tank interior is coate with two coats of anti-corrosive epoxy paint.

Vacuum-cum-Compressor Unit

The Exhauster / Compressor is of proven design with capacity of 6500 Lpm of airflow and is capable of generating vacuum of 90% Vacuum and alternatively pressure of 1.5 Bar. The unit is utilize for operating under vacuum for suctioning sludge through. A minimum 80 mm dia suction hose and alternatively in pressure mode for discharging by Blow back the sludge / silt from the tank without tipping /opening of the doors through a 4 way valve for change over from suction operation to pressure mode. Under the pressure mode, compressed air can be also injected into the sewer suction cum jetting machine manhole, septic tank, etc for blow-back and agitate the sludge / slurry before suction.

Accessorie

Lockable type hose storage boxes are provided on either side of the tank to facilitate storage and transportation of suction hoses, tools, etc. 2 Nos. x 80 feet. Long heavy duty, PVC flexible suction hoses of minimum 80 mm internal diameter and fitted with quick action couplings are provided along with the equipment.

Truck Chassis

The entire unit is suitable for mounting on twin axle 9-ton GVW Truck Chassis with driver’s cabin and PTO Provision.

Tank Mounting

  1. The Sludge Collection Tank will be mounted on a sub-frame, fabricated from ISMC 150 channel sections.
  2. This arrangement distributes the weight of the equipment and payload evenly over the chassis long- bearers and renders the arrangement torque resistant when operating in off-road conditions existing at disposal sites. Vacuum Pump (Exhauster/ Compressor)
  3. The Equipment will be fitted with a Rotary Sliding Vane, positive displacement type Exhauster/Compressor known for its unmatche performance and for its trouble free and cost effective service throughout the life of the mini sewer suction cum jetting machine equipment. The pump will be fitted with high temperature resistant, asbestos free vanes, shall have a free airflow capacity of 5300 LPM to 6000 LPM
  4. The exhauster / compressor will be of an imported origin. The exhauster / compressor will be provided with:

    ✓ Convection Air –cooling
    ✓ Forced oil Lubrication pump
    ✓ Incorporated Check valve
    ✓ Incorporated 4 –way valve.
Suction Hose Connection And Stowage
  1. Ten nos., 3 meters long, heavy duty, PVC flexible suction hoses of 80 mm internal diameter and fitted with quick action couplings/ CAM-Lock couplings are to be provided along with the equipment.
  2. Suitable arrangement for holding the hose pipes shall be provided with the unit.
  3. The vacuum pump/ compressor will be driven by the factory fitte side PTO of the vehicle through. A propeller shaft and a flexible V-belt & pulley configuration.
  4. The arrangement will allow the operator to stop the pump without necessitating stoppage of the vehicle engine.
  5. The changeover of the PTO unit for individual drive will be from the driver’s cabin.
  6. Both, exterior and interior of the tank will be sande prior to spray painting.
